Model 8002 RF3 (Level IV) Heavy Tungsten No Spall Silicon Carbide Mosaic Ceramic Armor Plate (Single Plate) with GTS Shard Lock™ Fragmentation Control 

  • This is an overbuilt, high-performance armor with built-in redundancies.
  • Built-in trauma pad
  • 1.2" thick 
  • Significant, high-purity silicon carbide strike face stops tungsten projectiles and multiple tungsten crown shots (M993/M995/Swiss P AP 196g, .308 Winchester). Ballistic test reports are here.
  • Exceeds capabilities of alumina armor plates and most silicon carbide monolithic armor.
  • 8.4 pds. Can be manufactured at 7.5 and 7.7 weights also and still meet NIJ RF3 requirements (.30 M2AP). Full 8.4 pd configuration makes the Model 8002 one of the strongest ceramic armor plates on the market.
  • Eliminates (to nearly zero) most ceramic fragmentation on majority of shot placements with GTS ShardLock™ technology.
  • Standalone, edge-to-edge ballistic ceramic coverage
  • Ballistic Performance: RF3 .30-06 M2 AP (armor piercing) at 2880 feet per second. Also tested against M993 (crown shot) and Swiss P AP 196g (crown shot).
  • Outer Material: Black, 1000 denier water resistant nylon
  • Made in the USA with the world's strongest materials.
  • The Model 8002 has been rigorously designed for rough handling and is ready to be dropped, submerged and handled daily.  

Developmental history resulted from a custom project to develop an armor plate that could resist multiple crown shots from M993, M995 and Swiss P AP.
