This custom capability ensures you get proper fit and coverage regardless of your unique requirements.

Custom sizing is particularly valuable for specialized carriers like Crye Precision systems, international armor platforms, or custom-built carriers that don't conform to standard SAPI dimensions. It's also essential for individuals whose body dimensions fall outside the standard sizing ranges, ensuring proper coverage of vital organs without gaps or excessive overlap.

Variations in sizes are acceptable and expected in custom work. GTS works with you to determine the exact dimensions needed for your application, then manufactures plates to those specifications. This ensures proper fit in your carrier and appropriate coverage for your body type.

RF2 or RF3 Protection Options:

Choose the protection level that matches your threat assessment and operational requirements. RF2 protection stops M193, M855, 7.62 x 51mm M80, and 7.62 x 39mm MSC - the most common rifle threats encountered in law enforcement and civilian scenarios. RF3 protection adds .30-06 M2 AP armor-piercing capability for high-threat environments where armor-piercing ammunition may be encountered.

Both protection levels use the same proven mosaic ceramic configuration with 99%+ pure alumina ceramic tiles. The difference is in the thickness and construction details optimized for each threat level - RF2 plates are 0.75" thick while RF3 plates are 1" thick. Both provide standalone protection without requiring soft armor backing.

Mosaic Ceramic Performance:

The mosaic ceramic configuration is the best performing ceramic armor design for multi-hit scenarios. When a projectile impacts the plate, the damage is contained within the affected ceramic tile and immediately surrounding area, while the rest of the plate maintains its full protective capability. This allows the armor to withstand multiple impacts in different locations without catastrophic failure.

The 99%+ pure alumina ceramic provides superior hardness and fracture resistance compared to lower-purity alternatives used by many competitors. The crack arresting layers made from aramid and carbon fiber materials help control ceramic fragmentation during impacts, reducing ceramic dust and maintaining structural integrity. The UHMWPE backing plate provides additional strength and helps manage backface deformation to protect against blunt force trauma.

All components are bonded using proprietary ARMORFILM™ adhesives that are 100% sourced and manufactured in the USA, ensuring consistent bonding performance and long-term durability.

Curve Design:

The single-curve design provides a balance between comfort and ease of manufacturing, making it compatible with most standard plate carriers. The curve helps the plate conform to your body's natural contours better than flat plates, reducing standoff distance and improving comfort during extended wear. The single-curve profile is also easier to fit into a wider variety of carriers compared to more aggressive multi-curve designs.

For custom sizing applications, the single-curve design provides flexibility in manufacturing while maintaining the ergonomic benefits of a curved plate. The 1000 denier water-resistant nylon cover protects the plate during daily use and provides a durable outer surface.
